Abstract

A cycle pedal includes a front engagement member to engage the front end ( ) of a locking member ( ) secured to the sole of a shoe and a rear male movable engagement member to engage a female rear end ( ) of the locking member. The movable engagement member is prestressed by a resilient member toward an engagement position whilst being movable under the pressure of the cyclist's shoe toward an open spaced position permitting insertion or withdrawal of the locking element ( ).
