Abstract
An insulation-displacement terminal (T) includes opposed side walls ( ) and a wire-receiving space therebetween. Insulation-displacement portions ( ) project from the side walls ( ) and into the wire-receiving space. Each insulation-displacement portion ( ) has two bases ( ) that project from longitudinally spaced positions on the corresponding side wall ( ). A blade ( ) has two panels folded from the respective bases ( ) and projecting further into the wire-receiving space. The folded blades ( ) cut sharply into the resin coating (Wa) of a wire (W) urged into the wire-receiving space, and the bases ( ) resist pulling forces on the wire (W). Therefore, a loose movement of the wire (W) in its longitudinal direction can be prevented.
