Abstract
A method and apparatus for coating a moving web of paper or board from on sides with at least one coat layer. The coat is applied to the web by means of a film transfer coater ( ) and next the web is passed to a dryer cylinder group ( ) via an air-cushion cylinder ( ) supported by a wire ( ), whereby the web can run fully supported all the way from its entry to the coater up to the winder. The apparatus further comprises a belt calender ( ) and a belt-supported winder ( ), whereby the web is thus supported over its entire passage in the machinery from the unwinder or paper machine up to winding.
