Abstract

An integrated fluid recovery reservoir and thermostat assembly for use within an engine cooling system . The integrated fluid recovery reservoir and thermostat assembly includes a coolant reservoir housing which is mounted directly to the engine and which includes inlet ports for receiving coolant from engine and an outlet flow portion or module which is fluidly coupled to the radiator . The assembly further includes a flow control module and thermostat assembly which is attached to the reservoir housing and which selectively and fluidly communicates with the reservoir housing , with the coolant pump and with the radiator . A thermostat valve is attached to and/or within assembly and cooperates with assembly to selectively control the flow of the coolant through the engine cooling system . The thermostat is integrated within a fill cap , which allows the system to be easily filled with coolant and allows the thermostat to be easily serviced or replaced.
