Abstract

A developing roller ( ) comprising an elastic layer ( ) wound round a conductive shaft ( ) and one or more resin layers ( ) laminated on the elastic layer. The elastic layer ( ) has a JIS A hardness of not greater than 50 degrees. At least the outermost layer of the one or more resin layers ( ) contains fine particles and the surface roughness (R ) of the outermost layer is regulated to be within the range of 3 to 15 &mgr;m. A resin composition containing an —NHCO— bound or a resin composition containing —ROCO — and —SiOSi— repeating units and an —NHCO— bond can be used for the outermost layer.
