Abstract

A thermal expansion valve has a valve chamber in a valve body , and controls the flow rate of refrigerant from a condenser and a receiver, and the refrigerant travels to an evaporator through a passage . Refrigerant returning from the evaporator transmits the temperature of refrigerant to a heat sensing shaft connecting to a power element portion while traveling through a passage . A cover has a head portion and a tapered portion , and is mounted to the top portion of the valve body . Tapered outer surfaces of the tapered portion of the cover and tapered surfaces of the valve body form approximately identical surfaces. A concave portion of the head portion covers the power element portion , and its peak portion forms a curved surface
