Abstract
The invention relates to a vegetation support ( ) consisting of a mat of entangled organic fibers ( ) which form said vegetation support ( ). A substrate ( ) is introduced into the hollow spaces of the mat ( ) and a plant material ( ) able to germinate, especially seeds, spores, sprouts or the like, is planted on an upper side ( ) of the mat ( ). The fibers ( ) of the mat ( ) are secured against detachment from the mat ( ). The inventive vegetation support ( ) is characterized in that the mat ( ) fibers ( ) are coconut fibers and that a plant-compatible binding agent ( ) is used to prevent the fibers ( ) from becoming detached from the mat ( ). The binding agent is applied to the surfaces of at least a part of the fibers ( ) and ensures that the fibers ( ) of the mat ( ) are at least partly glued to each other.
