Abstract
Novel human DLX3 genes and their encoded proteins are provided herein. The proteins encoded by the disclosed DLX3 and DLX3&Dgr; genes play a pivotal role in craniofacial growth and development. DLX3 genes and their encoded proteins provide valuable therapeutic targets for the design of proliferative agents which augment bone growth and repair.
