Abstract
This invention relates to a method for the suspension polymerization of conjugated dienes in hydrocarbon mixtures comprising a fraction by volume greater than 80% of C hydrocarbons wherein polymerization is conducted in the presence of a rare earth compound, of one or more aluminum compounds, and optionally of an additional Lewis acid. The invention further relates to the polymers which can be produced according to the present invention and to the use thereof for the production of moldings of all types, particularly tires and industrial rubber products, and for blending with polystyrene (HIPS).
