Abstract
A coin carrying device has a carrying structure defining a carrying passage ( ) along which a plurality of coins are carried in a diametrical row. The coins fed by a rotary disk ( ) onto the carrying passage ( ) are carried along the carrying passage ( ) by a carrying belt ( ). A stopping member ( ) stops the coins temporarily before the coins reach the exit of the carrying passage ( ). The coin carrying device includes a coin separating lever ( ). The coin separating lever ( ) has a roller ( ) capable of being laterally advanced into and retracted from the carrying passage ( ) at a position downstream from the second coin from the head coin stopped in the carrying passage ( ) by the stopping member ( ). When advanced into the carrying passage ( ), the roller ( ) is shoved out of the carrying passage ( ) against the resilience of a spring ( ) by the coin that comes into contact with the roller ( ). The roller ( ) is returned to the position in the carrying passage ( ) by the resilience of the spring ( ) after the coin has passed the roller ( ).
