Abstract

A burner ( ) is provided in accordance with the present invention that includes an outer tube ( ), an inner tube ( ) positioned to be within the inner tube ( ), a power supply ( ) coupled to the inner tube ( ), and an ignitor pin ( ) coupled to the outer tube ( ). An insulator ( ) is provided that separates the burner ( ) from a natural gas supply ( ). The natural gas supply ( ) provides natural gas to a combustion zone ( ) through the inner tube ( ). An oxygen supply ( ) provides oxygen to the combustion zone ( ) through a gap ( ) between inner and outer tubes ( ). A spark is created between the inner tube ( ) and the ignitor pin ( ) to ignite the natural gas and oxygen to create a flame ( ).
