Abstract
The housing is formed such that when the tilting angle of a miniature card is in a predetermined range of acute angle (e.g., 20 to 25 degrees), the lower end of the miniature card is insertable into the groove of the housing . In addition, guide portions and are provided on the front surface of the rear wall and on the upper end of the front wall , respectively, to lead the lower end of the miniature card which is tilted to an angle greater than the predetermined range. Thereby, the space required for the installation of the miniature card is made relatively small to produce a compact connector. The groove , into which the lower end of the miniature card is inserted for the installation of the miniature card, is formed or defined by the rear wall and the front wall of the housing , and lateral arms are provided at the lateral ends of the rear and front walls and to connect these walls. Furthermore, a plurality of plate-like portions are provided parallel with one another in a laterally extending row, each plate-like portion spanning in the front and rear direction and connecting the rear and front walls and at the lower end of the groove . As a result, the connector has a strength sufficient to withstand the pressure which is received from the lower end of the miniature card during the installation of the miniature card.
