Abstract

The outputs of antenna elements to of a wide directional pattern are distributed by a distributor to respective channel parts to , and in each channel part (i=1, 2, . . . , N), its connection points to to the distributor are divided in groups of P=4; four connecting ends of the respective groups are connected via level-phase regulators to to combiners to (L=M/P), then the combined outputs therefrom are applied to receivers to , and the outputs therefrom are combined after being applied to regulators to which are adaptively controlled. In the channel part , coefficients W to W are set in regulators to to obtain a subarray directional pattern and a combined directional pattern is controlled within the range of the subarray directional pattern, and in another channel part coefficients W to W are set in the regulators to to obtain a subarray directional pattern ; by setting the regulators to of each channel part, a wide area is covered as a whole.
