Abstract

A secondary air system is proposed for an internal combustion engine, which has a turbine driven by a pressure gradient in the intake air and a compressor driven by the turbine . The turbine is connected by a turbine inlet line and a turbine outlet line to an air intake duct . The compressor has a compressor inlet line and a compressor outlet line . The cold produced by the turbine is used by a turbine heat exchanger and transport lines for the cooling of, e.g., oil. The heat produced by the compressor is used by a compressor heat exchanger and the transport lines connected thereto, e.g., for heating air.
