Abstract
A catalyst for &agr;-olefin polymerization obtained by contacting (A) a solid catalyst component containing a titanium compound which is obtained by treating a solid product obtained by contacting an organosilicon compound having an Si—O bond, an ester compound and an organomagnesium compound, with an ether compound, titanium tetrachloride and an acyl halide, and successively treating said treated solid with an mixture of an ether compound and titanium tetrachloride, or a mixture of an ether compound, titanium tetrachloride and an ester compound, (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) an electron-donative compound, and a process for producing an &agr;-olefin polymer with the catalyst.
