A portable electronic device (,) is configured to include an accessible container (,) which has an access hatch (,) and a receptacle (,). The hatch (,) and receptacle (,) are each one-piece molded items. The hatch (,) includes a molded supple coating (,) over a molded rigid shell (,). The coating (,) is applied over walls (,) and a shell edge (,). The shell edge (,) is conformingly shaped to match a receptacle edge (,) so that a seal results when the hatch (,) is latched over a receptacle opening (,), with the supple coating (,) between the two edges (,). Latches (,) are integrally formed with the shell (,), and relief notches (,) are formed adjacent to the latches (,) so that a desired latch resilience results.
