Abstract
A hammer drill,includes a barrel,containing a striking mechanism. The drill further includes a motor,with a motor shaft,encased in a motor accommodating chamber,which has an upper opening at which a baffle plate,is disposed. The baffle plate,includes a bottom portion,and a partition,The baffle plate,further includes a flange,that extends radially around the upper edge of the partition,except toward the front of the partition,with the outer edge of the flange,reaching the inner surface of the motor housing,Additionally, a generally horizontal slot,is formed at the front peripheral surface of the bottom portion,of the baffle plate,Moreover, a plurality of air inlets,are provided at the rear end of a housing handle,of the drill,whereas a plurality of air outlets,are provided at the bottom of the motor housing,When air is drawn inside the hammer drill,by rotation of a cooling fan,fitted on the motor shaft,the air travels through the motor,upstream of the motor,after flowing through the barrel,along an extension air passage,thus cooling the striking mechanism.
