Abstract

The invention relates to anhydrous compositions that are useful as UV-light screens for mammalian skin. Such compositions comprise octocrylene, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, and a C,-C,alcohol vehicle. The invention also relates to methods of inhibiting or preventing UV light-induced skin damage by administering an effective amount of such a composition to the skin of a mammal in need of such inhibition or protection.
