Abstract
A method for preventing fungal diseases in crops which comprises the steps of: (a) applying to a crop an aqueous or a non-aqueous spray composition which includes a pesticide and a spray adjuvant including a solvent and an emulsifier, wherein the solvent is a mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons having a distillation range of about 520 to 600° F. and an aromatic content of about 1% or less, or the solvent is a single or combination of C,-C,fatty alcohol(s); and (b) applying chlorothalonil to the crop previously to, simultaneously with, or subsequently to the application of the aqueous spray composition, wherein phytotoxicity associated with the application of chlorothalonil is reduced or eliminated.
