Abstract

An electronically controlled, programmable searchlight (,), particularly useful for mounting on helicopters. The searchlight (,) uses a digital electronic control circuit (,) in conjunction with rotary potentiometers (,), (,) to control movement of the searchlight (,). Adjustable trimpots (,) are employed to provide the searchlight (,) with preset positions, each preset position having an easily alterable operating envelope. The searchlight (,) may have light sources (,) of varying type, which may also be controlled by the electronic control circuit (,).
