Abstract
An ultrasound imaging catheter system,comprises an ultrasound imaging catheter,provided with a connector,positioned on the handle side thereof, an external drive device,provided with a connecting part,for connection to the connector,of the ultrasound imaging catheter,, and an adapter,interposed between the connector,and the connecting part,and having undergone a purifying treatment such as sterilization, the adapter,being removable relative to the connector,of the ultrasound imaging catheter,and the connecting part,of the external drive device,. The construction prevents the connector,part of the ultrasound imaging catheter,from contamination and allows it to retain a sterilized state thereof and enables the ultrasound imaging catheter,to be attached to and detached from the external drive device,without interrupting the operation.
