Abstract

The projection headlight has a reflector (,), a light source (,) arranged in a peak region of the reflector, a stop or mask (,) arranged in front of the reflector and a projection lens (,) arranged in front of the stop or mask. The reflector (,) and the light source (,) are pivotally mounted and connected with each other so as to rotate together about a rotation axis (,) arranged in the vicinity of a second principal point of the projection lens (,). The illumination device has at least two of these projection headlights, advantageously on opposite sides of the vehicle. The angular orientations of the reflectors (,) are controlled independently of each other in the illumination device.
