Abstract
A reciprocating saw includes a hexagonal head bolt (,) for releasably tightening a guide shoe (,) and a manually-operated bolt-tightening lever (,) fitted over the bolt (,). The bolt-tightening lever (,) includes a lock plate (,) which has at its front end a socket hole (,) that can fit around the head (,) of the hexagonal head bolt (,) and has a serrated edge with twelve notches each having an interior angle of 120 degrees. The lock plate (,) has at its rear end four engaging teeth (,) at intervals of four degrees around axis O of the hexagonal head bolt (,). The shape of the outer portion (,) is such that the outer portion can cover the lock plate (,). Moreover, the outer portion (,) has on its top side a circular hole (,) in which the head (,) of the bolt (,) can be fitted. The outer portion (,) includes also on its top side a compensation recess (,) in which the lock plate (,) is set and can pivot sixteen degrees in either direction about the axis O from the position in which the lock plate (,) is aligned with the outer portion (,). Formed at the rear end of the compensation recess (,) are a plurality of compensation teeth (,) that can mesh with the engaging teeth (,). The compensation teeth (,) span the 32 degree range in which the lock plate (,) pivots in the outer portion (,).
