Abstract

Detent protrusions, disposed at a detent rod,of a shift lever, are molded so as to be integrated with the detent rod,in such a manner that the cross section of a portion of each of the detent protrusions, connected to the detent rod,, taken along a direction substantially intersecting the direction in which each of the detent protrusions, protrudes, is larger, as compared to cross sections of other portions of the detent protrusion,, than the portion of the detent protrusion, connected to the detent rod,. As a result, even when the detent protrusions, and the detent rod,are molded from a synthetic resin so as to be integrated with each other, the detent protrusion, ensures the same strength as a conventional detent pin is achieved.
