The invention introduces applications of the use of coherent and non-coherent light in the high wavelengths of the visible spectrum and in the near wavelengths of the infrared spectrum. The applications include a system for the identification of objects under varying light conditions, a system to determine the distance to and size of objects under observation, and a movement sensor system to detect a significant change of position of objects under observation.
