Abstract

A surface mount, tunable inductor (,) includes a core (,) that is substantially toroidal in shape. The core (,) has a first flattened surface (,) and a second flattened surface (,) opposite the first flattened surface (,), and a hole (,) is formed through the core (,). A wire (,) is wound about the core (,) and terminates in first and second leads (,). The inductor (,) also includes a substrate (,) on which first and second conductive pads (,) are formed.
