Abstract
A process for reducing the water take up of a vinyl aromatic-conjugated diene polymer when subjected to a humid environment, the process comprising solution polymerising at least one vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene in the presence of a catalyst based on an alkali metal to produce alkalimetal derivatives of a vinyl aromatic-conjugated diene polymer and neutralising the derivatives with a C,-C,alkyl dicarboxylic acid.
