A hydraulic fluid pump (,), including a housing (,), a pumping apparatus (,), an inlet (,), a pressure chamber (,), an outlet (,), a bypass valve (,) and a diffuser (,). Wherein cavitation is reduced by using the diffuser (,) to supercharge fluid from the outlet (,) to increase the static pressure of the fluid entering the pumping apparatus (,).
