Abstract
A roller (,) incorporating a heat pipe cavity (,) has a port (,) through which a medium (,) is flowed and a vacuum is drawn. The port (,) is sealed by a plug (,) which is lodged in a hole (,) by advance of a screw (,) against the plug (,) to form a metal-to-metal seal that will withstand pressures in the heat pipe cavity (,). A body of grease (,) is one of several ways disclosed for centering the plug (,) in the hole (,). The screw (,) can be advanced with a conventional Allen wrench or a special tool (,) having a driver head (,) on a shaft (,) that extends through a casing (,) for conveying medium or drawing a vacuum. The screw (,) has vents (,) to allow a vacuum to be drawn as the port (,) is sealed. A method of sealing is also disclosed.
