Abstract

A welding arrangement (,) consists of first and second parts to be welded (,) with a portion of the first part and a portion of the second part juxtaposed to form a weld zone (,). An electrically-conductive sheet (,) with a higher melting temperature than a melting temperature of the first part (,) and a melting temperature of the second part (,) is placed over the weld zone (,). A first electrode (,) is placed in contact with the electrically conductive sheet material (,) and a second electrode (,) is positioned and aligned with the first electrode (,) to heat conducively the weld zone (,) with an electrical current. For the butt weld configuration (,), a second electrically conductive sheet (,) is placed between the second electrode (,) and the weld zone (,).
