Abstract

An electrical LGA socket (,) includes an electrical connector portion (,) and an insulative frame portion (,) surrounding the connector portion. The frame portion comprises a stationary element (,) and a driver (,) pivotally assembled to the stationary element. The stationary element comprises an opening (,) for accommodating the connector portion, a Land Grid Package (LGP)(,) and, a heat sink (,) and, a protrusion (,). First and second aligned retainers (,) located opposite to the protrusion and a pair of opposite sides (,) surrounding the opening. The protrusion secures a second flange (,) of the heat sink. The driver comprises a lever (,) rotatable between an open and closed positions, a shaft (,) pivotally assembled to the first and second retainers, and a follower (,) assembled to the shaft and rotatable together with the shaft in response to rotation of the lever. The follower depresses a first flange (,) of the heat sink.
