Abstract

An ink jet recording material having substantially no tackiness and capable of receiving thereon ink images having high resistance to cracking and blotting has an ink receiving layer formed on a support and including (A) hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose having a 2% aqueous solution viscosity of 200 cP at 20° C., and optionally (B) a N-vinyl pyrrolidon polymer and (C) a cationic resin.
