A surfactant for forming stable dispersions of rosin esters compatible with elastomeric latexes, the surfactant having the formula R,—R,—R,. R,and R,are each rosin (i.e., rosin, rosin dimer or a mixture of rosin and rosin dimer). R,is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol and polyethylene glycol-R,-polyethylene glycol wherein R,is rosin (i.e., rosin, rosin dimer or a mixture of rosin and rosin dimer).
