Abstract
An internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle with a coolant system, includes a cab heater (,) and a cooling element (,) for cooling exhaust recirculating to the inlet side of the engine (,). The cooling element has a coolant outlet (,), which communicates with the coolant inlet (,) of the cab heater to quickly heat the cab heater with the aid of the exhaust when the engine is cold-started.
