Abstract
An energy attenuation apparatus for a system conveying liquid under pressure is provided, wherein the apparatus is disposed in a liquid conveying line of said system. A restrictor or tubing section is disposed in a hose and divides the interior thereof into an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber that communicate with one another. A first tuning cable of polymeric material is disposed in the inlet chamber, with a first end of the tuning cable being connected to the inlet end of the inlet chamber for receiving liquid from the system, while a second open end of the tuning cable is spaced from the outlet end of the inlet chamber for conveying liquid thereto. A second tuning cable of polymeric material is disposed in the outlet chamber, with a first end of the tuning cable being connected to the restrictor or tubing for receiving the liquid, while a second open end of the tuning cable is spaced from the outlet end of the outlet chamber for conveying the liquid thereto.
