Abstract
An object is to provide a plasma torch having a function to achieve fully satisfactory cooling of the nozzle and shield cap. A plasma torch,comprises a nozzle,positioned at the front end portion of the torch,so as to cover an electrode,, with a plasma gas passage,interposed therebetween. A shield cap,is mounted at the front end of the nozzle,, and these components,and,are accommodated in a retainer cap,. Assist gas passages,are formed in the wall of the retainer cap,, and feed assist gas to the vicinity of the plasma arc,. A space enclosed by the retainer cap,, nozzle,and shield cap,is a cooling water passage,. The retainer cap,, nozzle,and shield cap,faces the cooling water passage,, and hence directly and powerfully water-cooled.
