Cosmetic/pharmaceutical compositions, well suited for the treatment of a variety of mammalian disorders of, for example, the skin, hair and/or mucous membranes, a manifestation of which is an excess in the synthesis and/or in the release of substance P, e.g., for the treatment of cutaneous disorders and sensitive skin, comprise an effective substance P antagonist amount of at least one &bgr;-adrenergic agonist, e.g., salbutamol, in a cosmetically/pharmaceutically acceptable medium therefor.
