Abstract

A foamed ionomer polymer comprising metal ions pertaining to the IA, IIA, or IIB Group of the Periodic Table, and a crystalline or semicrystalline graft copolymer where the backbone polymer chain of the graft copolymer is a polymer of an olefin selected from ethylene and C,-C,&agr;-olefins, and the grafted chains comprise monomers containing at least one functional group selected from carboxylic groups and their derivatives.
