Abstract
Aqueous emulsion of an organic polymeric material (preferably olefinic), said polymeric material comprising: 1) a hydrophobic polymer part which has a polymodal particle size distribution, and 2) an oligomer part bearing acid groups which imparts or is capable of imparting reversibility to the polymeric material of the emulsion, this being realized, if necessary, by sufficient of the acid groups being in ionised form. lonisation is usually achieved by raising pH to ≧7 (neutralizing). The polymer emulsion is particularly useful for inks and overprint lacquer formulations, and for paint formulations.
