Abstract
It has been discovered that certain phosphoinositides demonstrate antibacterial activity. Particularly, these phosphoinositides have been discovered to prevent the adhesion of,onto the nasopharyngeal cells of mammals, and, in particular, humans. Phosphoinositides useful with the present invention have the following formula:
