Abstract

A connector (,) for tubular members (,) is disclosed including first and second connector elements (,) each having U-shaped cross sections and jaw members (,). A cam (,) is located between the connector elements (,) which each preferably include a cam trough (,). The first and second connector elements (,) are biased together by first and second O-rings (,) positioned around the connector elements (,). The jaw members (,) can be inserted in longitudinal insertion directions into the tubular members (,) while the cam (,) is in an insertion position and the cam (,) can be rotated to a locked position to separate the jaw members (,) sufficiently to grip the inside surfaces of the tubular members (,) with sufficient force to prevent relative movement therebetween. A spring retainer (,) is held by a pin (,) extending through apertures (,) formed in the jaw members (,) and apertures (,) formed adjacent the free edges of leg portions (,) of the spring retainer (,) which flex outwardly and grip the inside surface of the tubular member (,) when moved opposite to the insertion direction.
