Abstract

A reflector for reflecting electromagnetic waves has a configured surface for these waves whereby localized deformations or configurations such as bumps (B) and dents (D) of the reflector (,) are so constructed that the reflector cooperates with several focuses (,A,,B;,A,,B) which are spatially separated from the reflector proper. These focuses are so arranged that the electromagnetic beams emanating from the respective radiators (,A,,B;,A,,B) and are directed onto the reflector can be directed through the reflector onto a common region (,A,,B) to be illuminated, whereby particularly the beams may be tuned to different frequencies or for operation in different frequency bands. Such reflectors are particularly useful in antenna systems for communications such as satellite communications.
