Abstract
A patch antenna,is comprised of a ground plate, provided on one surface of a dielectric plate, along with a patch, and a feeding line, for connection to the patch, each being provided on the other surface of the dielectric plate,In this patch antenna,an aperture,is provided on the ground plate,at a position, which is asymmetric about a center of the ground plate,By virtue of placing the aperture,on the ground plate,in an asymmetrical manner about the center of the ground plate,, distribution of a return current becomes so asymmetric as to yield a common mode current. In this way, it is possible to implement the non-directional and broad-bandwidth characteristics.
