Abstract
An effervescent two component whitening dentifrice composition is disclosed which comprises a first component containing a peroxide compound such as hydrogen peroxide and a second dentifrice component containing a mixture of iron and copper salts such as FeSO,and CaSO,, which when the two components are combined and mixed upon application to the teeth provides an effervescent sensory signal concomitant with whitening of the teeth.
