Abstract

The invention provides methods and systems for power control in point-to-multipoint communications systems. Methods are described for downstream using an off-the-air monitor,and pick-up antenna,. The monitor detects the power level of the pick-up signal and a control signal sets the transmittal output from the base station in proportion to the detected composite power level.
