Abstract

A magnetic tape favorably employable for recording computer data has a support, and on one side of the support, a essentially non-magnetic layer composed of a non-magnetic powder and a binder, and a magnetic layer composed of a ferromagnetic powder and a binder superposed in order, and on the other side, a back-coating layer containing carbon black, wherein the magnetic layer has a thickness of 0.08 to 0.28 &mgr;m and a magnetic flux of 0.02 to 0.1 G·cm.
