Abstract
The present invention is concerned with a superhard carbon material having a structure comprising structural elements, in the form of tetrahedrons, with groups of carbon atoms in their apices. It is also concerned with a method for producing the superhard carbon material from fullerite C,, having in its structure structural elements in the form of tetrahedrons, by polymerization of the fullerite C,until in the structure of the target material the bulk-polymerized structural elements in the form of tetrahedrons are formed containing in their apices groups of carbon atoms. Articles made of the new superhard carbon material are also claimed.
