Abstract

A cargo barrier net (,) is preferably made of a high-strength, lightweight, low-elongation material such as a material sold under the trademark KEVLAR®, and includes straps (,) intersecting at intersections (,) at varying angles. A stitching pattern (,) is applied at each intersection (,) which is configured so that it will not fail irrespective of the direction of the force applied to the intersection (,). A hook (,) is releasably attached to some of the ends of the straps (,) to attach portions of the periphery of the net (,) to the aircraft. A bracket (,) is releasably attached to some of the ends of the straps (,) to attach other portions of the periphery of the net (,) to the aircraft. At least some of the straps (,) are interrupted and a link (,) is provided to selectively join the interrupted ends of the straps (,). The net (,) may thus be quickly removed to load and unload the cargo by releasing the hooks (,) and operating the links (,) to interrupt the net (,). In addition, the straps (,) may be easily removed from the hooks (,) and brackets (,) when the straps (,) need to be replaced.
