Abstract
An improved adjustable box wrench having a mouth (,) with a plurality of gripping surfaces (,) for surrounding a nut, bolt or the like. A movable jaw (,) allows the size of the mouth to be altered when a worm screws (,) is turned. The worm screw (,) has gear (,) which fit between teeth (,) in an arm (,) extending from the movable jaw (,). The adjustment arm (,) and worm screw (,) fit into cavities (,) in the wrench body (,). Increased lateral support for the movable jaw is provided by at least one protrusion (,) on a side (,) of the jaw which fits into and moves longitudinally within at least one channel or groove (,) in fixed gripping surfaces (,) on opposite sides of the mouth (,). At least one removal slot (,) is provided to enable assembly and disassembly of the at least one protrusion (,) into the at least one channel or groove (,).
