Abstract
A composition, containing carbon black pigment particles of a specific size and an inorganic binder, suitable for use as a color coating on inorganic substrates to provide a greater resistance to fade than conventional coating compositions. The particles have a mean particle size in the range of about 150 nm to about 500 nm and a surface area per weight of particles of about 20 m,/g or less. The composition is useful in producing coated inorganic granules for specific uses, such as roofing granules.
